In the mountainous Vorarlberg region, we are collaborating a pilot project for landslide monitoring. Various sensors have already been tested in this area, and recently we have strengthened this setup with two DeltaCubes from DeltaIoT.

Why? Because the terrain forces us to measure smarter and more robustly. Conventional surveying techniques are often too costly and difficult to scale up – especially due to the remote location of such areas. Smart, energy-efficient sensors truly make a difference here.

With the DeltaCube, we add extra value precisely in these conditions:

• Fully standalone GNSS monitoring with integrated 4G Cat 1 communication – even at sites without fixed infrastructure.

• Plug & Play installation with minimal calibration required and immediate data availability via our DELTANext platform.

• Extremely stable and reliable in harsh weather conditions and challenging terrain.

• Real-time integration with other sensors, combined with alarm notifications (e.g. inclinometers, vibration sensors) via partner platforms using our API.

Continuously monitoring critical slopes 24/7 and detecting movements at an early stage – an essential step for ensuring safety in this vulnerable region.

By maintaining constant vigilance, we can detect landslides, like the recent one in Switzerland, at an early stage, warn people, and alert technicians in time – preventing risks from escalating into disasters.
